Discrimination: know your rights and respond
Discrimination is unfair treatment based on origin, religion, gender, orientation, disability, appearance or health. The law forbids it.
Warning signs
- Mockery, exclusion or refusal because of who you are
- Racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic or ableist insults
- Different treatment at school, at work or in a public place
What to do
- Write down the facts: date, place, people, witnesses.
- Talk to a trusted adult or a contact person at your school.
- Report on SOS OSCAR; in France you can also contact the Défenseur des droits.
- If you are in danger, call 17 or 112.
